Deborah (Debbie) Dean Foster Stidham, age 74 of Del Rio, TX, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Burt Stidham, her father George Philemon Foster, her mother Cordie Donaho Foster, and her sister, Phyllis Taylor.

Debbie had many honors and awards from cheerleading to being voted class favorite. Some of her proudest childhood moments included serving her community as Kiwanis Kid's Day Queen and Miss Del Rio. While representing the community, she had the privilege to greet two U.S. Presidents. As Kiwanis Kid's Day Queen, she greeted President Eisenhower with a yellow bouquet of roses as he flew into Del Rio to sign the treaty with Mexico for the beginning of construction of the Amistad Dam. As Miss Del Rio 1966- 1967, she was honored to meet several state and federal dignitaries as they gathered at Amistad Dam to inspect construction. It was there she met President Lyndon B. Johnson and the Mexico President, Diaz-Ordaz. She also met Lady Bird Johnson, Mrs. Ordaz, Governor and Mrs. John Connally as well as Secretary of State Dean Rusk. What a blessing for a small town girl!

Her life has been a series of blessings. She married her high school sweetheart, Burt Stidham, and began to raise a family which was her greatest joy and achievement. In 1981 they started Sentry Security Service which is still going strong.

Debbie has had such a full life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed family vacations to Port Aransas and snow skiing in Ruidoso.

Through the years, she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school and was an active member of the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Garden Club and helped deliver meals on wheels. Debbie was blessed with many interests and talents among them being singing, dancing, gardening, sewing, painting, and writing poetry.

She is survived by her daughter, Stevie Stidham Heinrich and son-in-law Chris Heinrich of Humble, TX, daughter Lara Stidham Kusenberger and son-in-law Jacob Kusenberger of Del Rio, TX, son Jason Stidham and wife Ashley of Uvalde, TX, and son Russell Stidham and fiancé Ivonne Trevino of Del Rio, TX; grandchildren Justin, Jackson and Jett Heinrich, Kalli Kusenberger Theiss and husband Dustin Theiss, Cameron, Gage and Kennedy Kusenberger, Morgan Stidham Medders and husband Colton Medders, Mason and Melanie Stidham, and Ryann, Tate and Libby Stidham; three great grandchildren Weston and Charlie Medders, Lily Belle Theiss; sister Carolyn Nell Wardle, sister Ernestine Ricks and husband, Joe, brother J.J. Foster and wife Janice, sister-in-law Myrna Rattay all of Del Rio, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Esperanza First Del Rio from 10-11 AM on February 17th, 2024. Funeral Service will be held on February 17th, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Esperanza First Del Rio located at 301 Ave G. in Del Rio, Texas. Gentlemen with the Honor of Pallbearers are Jason Stidham, Russell Stidham, Chris Heinrich, Jacob Kusenberger, Justin Heinrich, Mason Stidham, Jackson Heinrich, Gage Kusenberger, and Jett Heinrich.

Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
