Obituary

Dean L. Davis, 85, of Del Rio, Texas, died December 29, 2022 at 5:24 a.m. at Methodist Texsan Hospital in San

Antonio, TX. A Memorial Service is pending at First United Methodist Church of Del Rio, TX. Dean was born, April 28, 1937 in Wolcott, Indiana, the son of Raymond Harry and Reba Helen Ulitch Davis. He married his one love, Julia R. Duncan on June 27, 1959 in Joliet, Illinois.

Dean was very active in sports in school and loved his San Antonio Spurs. He started his work life after his

graduation from high school at the age of 18, with an electronic company, Standard Coil, on August 25, 1955 in

Aurora, Illinois as a stock boy. He worked 6 years in Aurora, 8 years in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and 28 years in

Acuna, Mexico. He worked his way up from a stock boy, to Assistant Foreman, to Foreman, to Plant Manager

and to Production Manager over the years. He retired on May 9 1997 after 42 years with the same company. His

hobbies since retiring were wood building, helping his family and his Church, and completing his and his wife's

family history.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Julia R. Davis, daughter, Linda R. Green and son, Michael D.

Davis all of Del Rio, Texas. One half sister, Carolyn Hewitt (Lowell Hewitt) of Lesterville, Missouri and half

brother-n-law, Jim Hughes of Wolcott, Indiana. Three Grandchildren: Patricia R. & Richard D. Green (Brittney

Green) and Makayla R. Davis and one Great-grandson, Elijah D. Green. Several nieces, nephews and one

cousin (Shirley).

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Wava Don Nickell, half brother, Ray L. Kimble and half sister,

Mary Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be given to the First United Methodist Church in Del Rio, TX, where he

attended for many years.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church located at 100 Spring St.
