Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara I. (Crum) Lloyd; his daughters Jackie L. Feinberg (Richard), Las Cruces, NM and Danice K. Heller (James), Del Rio, TX; his granddaughters Ashley R. Ward (Jason), Cibolo, TX and Alice L. Feinberg, Dallas, TX; his step grandson, Jacob W. Heller, Las Angeles, CA; ten great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two

sisters, Merle Cochran and Darlene McQuaid; three sister-in-laws Pat Artman, Betty Clark, and Pat Lloyd; one brother-in-law, Garry Clark and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dan was raised in Robinson, IL and Carlsbad, NM. He met the love of his life at the age of 15 and they married four years later. He went into the Air Force and became a Meteorologist Technician. He was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base (AFB) in Alamogordo, NM where his two daughters were born. Dan was also stationed in Scotland, Carswell AFB in Texas and Rantoul AFB in Illinois. After leaving the Air Force as a civilian, Dan taught weather school at Rantoul AFB in Illinois. In 1964, he took a transfer as a meteorologist for the US Weather Bureau in Del, Rio, Texas.

As soon as they got to Del Rio, the family joined the First United Methodist Church where Dan was head lay leader, head of several committees and board and worked with the youth.

Dan worked selling insurance parttime with SIC Finance Company and found he liked it. In 1968, he found a home with State Farm Insurance and worked with the company for 34 years. He excelled with the company winning several awards and traveling all over the world. His love, Bobbie, was always by his side. He was known as a good, honest agent who always had time for

his clients and fellow agents. Dan retired in 2003 and worked selling insurance for Del Rio Bank and Trust for a year after that. Since retiring Dan and Bobbie have enjoyed family activities, traveling to meet with old friends and family. Dan always had time for family and friends.

Throughout his lifetime, he was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was involved in motorcycle racing and trial meets. The family enjoyed motorcycle trips and dirt biking. He road them all—Harley Davidson with saddle bags (Old Paint) to a Spyder. He even received a motorcycle in boxes that he built, road, and raced. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, jogging, family game nights and gambling—cards, dice and slots.

Dan and Bobbie were married for over 70 years. He will be greatly missed, but will always be carried in our hearts and memories.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at The First United Methodist Church of Del Rio at 100 Spring St, Del Rio, TX.
