Cruz Gaytan, 77, born to Santiago and Petra Gaytan in New Braunfels, Texas, on November 2, 1947, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on his birthday November 2, 2024.
Cruz Gaytan graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1968. He was known as a carpenter and floor installer for many years. He was retired and lived a full and vibrant life. He was known for his infectious smile and zest for life. He spent his days enjoying the simple life of the outdoors, barbecuing and jamming out to classic rock, tejano and blues music gave him great joy. Riding his Harley down river road was one thing he loved because of all the great family memories he had there. Also, a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan! But most all he was honored in being the best Father and Papa in the whole wide world. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew him. Dad, we will miss your big hugs and kisses, even those forehead slaps we love so much.
Cruz was survived by his boys; Dillinger Cruz Gaytan (Wife) Krystal Gaytan, Cruz (Cruzie) Gaytan and Leon Lopez. His grandchildren, who he absolutely adored; Isaiah, Aaron, Angalhia, Daisy, Ashlyn, Brooklyn, Bubba, Brandon and Serena.His Sisters; Lydia (Mike) Hooper, Rachel (Randy) Merz, and Baby Sister Adelina "BooBoo" (Santos) Rodriguez, Brothers; Joe (Doris) Gaytan, Charles (Cotton) Gaytan, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Festus.
He was preceded in death by his mom and pop, unborn Daughter, Dominque Gaytan, unborn Grandson, Dillinger Cruz Gaytan II, Brothers; Pedro Gaytan, Robert Gaytan, George Gaytan, Santiago Gaytan and Frankie Gaytan.
A visitation will begin at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 with a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Oaks, 415 S. Business IH-35, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
