Consuelo C. Moreno Ramon, 88, of Del Rio, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024, with family by her side. Consuelo was born in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico to Benerando Coronado and Herlinda Cruz Coronado on March 2, 1936. Consuelo was the middle child of five siblings. Consuelo and her family sought out the American Dream and they immigrated to the United States, and she lived in Del Rio, Texas for many years.

Consuelo married her first wonderful husband Oscar Moreno and was happily married for 15 years until his passing. Years later she remarried to Simon Ramon, they were married for 13 years. Consuelo and Simon resided in Del Rio, Texas where they raised their daughter, Cynthia. Consuelo was the heart of our home and family. Consuelo was a woman of faith, resiliency and set the example for her daughter, Cynthia. Her daughter states, "She was the strongest person I know, and I admire her for that. I was so blessed to have her as my Mom". She always provided a happy and loving home to her daughter, Cynthia, grandchildren, and to her nieces and nephews. Perhaps to her humble beginnings she was fiercely independent, and it was known.

In addition to her devotion to Jesus, Consuelo was an avid swimmer, she loved the water and there was no doubt about that. Consuelo was the home all her nieces and nephews would visit in the summer months. She has left them with fond memories of taking them swimming and being the fun place to be as a child. These memories will be cherished forever. Consuelo also enjoyed gardening and was often found outside enjoying her flowers, plants, and making sure they were perfect. For many years she was very active in her church community. Consuelo sang in the church choir, and she also enjoyed being part of the Guadalupana Society. She loved being a part of the Guadalupana Society, the society promoted the spiritual wellbeing of both men and women, of all nationalities and cultures by the way of prayer, evangelization, and by practicing charity through apostolic work. Conseulo was a devout Catholic. She will be dearly missed by those in her church community.

Consuelo had a sense of humor like no other. Her family can recall numerous jokes and comments that are special to them. Consuelo had a very close relationship with her grandchildren and they are left to cherish many stories and fond memories with her and about her.

Consuelo was predeceased by her parents, Benerando Coronado and Herlinda Cruz Coronado, her beloved first husband Oscar Moreno and second husband Simon Ramon, and her siblings, Teresa Cruz, Linda Cisneros Cruz, Hector Cruz and Benerando "Bene" Cruz.

Consuelo is survived by her daughter, Cynthia and her husband Eduardo Martinez. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Monique, Breanna, and Diego Emiliano.

The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A mass will be held at 8:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Consuelo's nephews', Jose Javier Cruz, Alejandro Cruz, Luis Hector Cruz, Hector Cruz Jr., David Cruz, and her beloved grandson Diego Emiliano Sanchez.
