Clara G. Rodriguez, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to her heavenly rest January 12, 2021, from complications due to COVID-19. Clara was born in Ovid, Colorado, May 20, 1940, to Mr. Juan and Mercedes (Pequeno) Gonzales. She married in 1959 to Juan M. Rodriguez, they later divorced. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Juan P. Lopez and sister Eva G. Ramos. Clara is survived by daughter Jo-Elda and Raul Barragan, sons, Ramon and Griselda Rodriguez and Johnny and Olga Rodriguez, her sister Rosalinda and Humberto Arredondo, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Clara worked for 24 years at Kmart until the store closed in 2003. She was a member of the Christian Church. For the past several years she has made her home with her daughter Jo-Elda and son-in-law Raul Barragan there in Del Rio. Clara loved to cook and helping others. Clara was always there for her family and friends to share any problems they may have and just be a friend. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Chapel service at 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, facemasks will be required.
