Our beloved Son, Brother and Father departed this earthly life on August 28,2025. He now rests in the hands of his heavenly father but will always live in our hearts and minds forever. Christopher was born February 13,1982 in Fredericksburg, Va.

He was preceded in death by his father Paul Dennis McClure, grandparents Alice and Ken McClure, and Uncle Steve McClure. Also preceding him in death was Grandmother Pauline Farris and husband Perrin Farris and Grandfather John Lorenzo Poulsen and Uncle John Freed Poulsen.

Survivors include Son Paul James McClure, Mother Sandra Stanley and husband Tom Stanley, Sister Kathy Steffens her husband Craig Steffens and their sons Kenneth, Thomas and John. Grandmother Bebee Poulsen, Aunt Connie McClure and stepsisters Shawn Sharp, Betty May, Angee Taylor and Penny Nobles. And a large extended family.

Christopher spent most of his early years growing up in Del Rio, Texas. He attended Del Rio High School where he graduated with honors, was in the top 10 students in his class. He was a member of the National Honor Society, participant in 4H and a member of the high school debate club. All while working at Bells department store.

Christopher was active in the community from a young age, starting with cub scouts. Through his hard work and dedication, he progressed through the ranks to earn his Eagle Scout and received the honorable distinction of being tapped for Order of the Arrow.

As Christopher approached graduation, he decided to pursue a degree in political science. During his senior year he did his research to find a school that was one of the top rated in the field of political science. You ready for this? The Pacific University of Hawaii. Yep, the kid was off to paradise. Christopher didn't just take classes; he also worked part time to help offset his cost of going to school. Trying to juggle classes and work, he found the service industry. He held a variety of jobs over the first few years of college, from busboy to waiter.

His early jobs lead him to see the many opportunities that existed in the service industry, especially in Waikiki, Hawaii, where millions of tourists from all over the world came through year-round. Chris's work ethic and determination gained him positions as a bar manager, lead bartender, restaurant manager over the years after leaving the university to purse new adventures. His hard work landed him a job at the prestigious Royal Hawaiian Hotel where he quickly became part of team and more importantly part of the family. He stayed there for the next 13 years. Here he made many friends from all over the world.

Along the way Chris married and had a son. While life took some unplanned turns, he bravely took on single parenting and custody of his son, the one true love of his life. After 24 years absence he and his 10-year-old son returned to his hometown of Del Rio Texas. As Christopher settled in, he continued to apply his skills in the service industry, quickly earning the hearts of those around him as he always did.

Sadly, a short time after his return his health took a turn for the worst when he was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. He fought the fight of a lifetime for nearly a year before his body could no longer muster the strength to fight, and his heavenly father gave him eternal relief when he called him home on August 28th, 2025, at 9:25 pm.

There will be a celebration of life on September 20th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Ramada Inn for Chris's friends and family to share their memories of Chris.

There will also be a graveside service and burial of his ashes on September 21st at 10:00 am in Carrizo Springs, Texas at the Mount Hope cemetery.
