Carlos Talamantez, age 92, entered into rest on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in Brackettville, Texas. He was born in Brackettville on August 12, 1932.

After proudly serving his country with distinction in the United States Navy during the Korean War, he settled in Northern California, where he built both a life and legacy.

A skilled land surveyor, he furthered his education by earning a degree in Engineering, which paved the way for a long and accomplished career. His contributions spanned both private construction and public development projects, reaching from Sonoma County, California to Phoenix, Arizona.

In his later years, he returned to his hometown of Brackettville, Texas, where he enjoyed a well-earned retirement – living independently, and entirely on his own terms, until his peaceful passing.

He is survived by his children: Ava Talamantez Cartwright (Chuck), Debra Spiliotis, Gloria McIntosh, Vickie Guasco (Pat), Greg Talamantez (Karen), Carlos V. Talamantez (Lisa), and Valerie T. Germani (Michael); as well as twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother Ray Talamantez (Eileen) and sister Eleanor Gomez (Ernest).

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Rita Talamantez, brothers Vidal and Flavio, and sister Yolanda Hidalgo.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 301 S. Ann St., Brackettville, Texas.

The interment will follow at Kinney County Cemetery, end of E. Veltman St, Brackettville, Texas.
