Carl George Sunderland, Jr September 2, 1931 April 18, 2012 Carl George Sunderland, Jr age 80, entered into rest on April 18, 2012 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born September 2, 1931 in Mission, Texas. He served in United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Carl served as Mercy Hospital Administrator, and Soil Conservation Engineer before dedicating his life to the education of children over various school district"�s culminating in San Felipe ISD where he served as transportation director, Vice-Principal of the High School the alternative center and teaching at St. James Episcopal School after his retirement from San Felipe Del Rio CISD. He was currently serving on the Val Verde Sheriff office advisory board. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Emma Reyes Sunderland. son, Randall Sunderland, daughter Judy Sunderland Altemeyer and husband Brad, and daughter-in-law Juanell Sunderland. Grandchildren, Carl Sunderland, IV, John Sunderland, James Sunderland, Jr, Jennifer Sunderland, Jessica Sunderland, Jeremy Sunderland, Stephanie Pearson, Joshua Jimenez, Trinity Altemeyer, Samuel Sunderland, and Sarah Sunderland. Also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son "�s, Carl Sunderland, III and James Sunderland, Sr. Gentlemen with the Honors of Pallbearers, Joshua Jimenez, James Sunderland, Jr, Jeremy Sunderland, Carl Sunderland, IV, John Sunderland, Samuel Sunderland, Nicholas Van Winkle. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 5:00pm-9:00pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 23, 2012, at 10:00am at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 706 N. Main St, Del Rio, Texas. Pastor Guzman, officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Military honors will conducted by Ft. Sam Houston Honor Guard and American Legion Post #595.
