Mrs. Bettye Jo Briscoe age 81, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2007. She is now joined with her true love, best friend, and late husband, Lee Roy Briscoe (Buddy). She was born in Sherman, Texas on March 1, 1925 to Mr. Clayton Overt and L. D. Overt. She married Lee on November 20, 1945 in Dallas, Texas. She was one of a kind and a friend to everyone she would meet. Her friends will tell you she was the most loyal friend out there. She had a zest for life and lived life to the fullest. Even when she was sick she still enjoyed life and kept going on, trying to get better. She will be missed by her family and all that knew her. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church for over 40 years. In her younger years, she was active in her Church, and often had Bible studies in her home, but continued to have her faith all of her life. She was a Past President of the San Felipe Country Club Ladies Golf Association, as well as, the Monday Night Ladies Bowling League. She was an avid golfer and they both enjoyed golfing together often. They moved to Del Rio in 1954 to manage and then purchase a Distributorship. After Lee"�s death she went to work for the National Park Service retired after 25 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Lee Roy Briscoe, her parents Clayton and L.D., her brother Conrad Overt. She is survived by her daughters Lee Ann Briscoe, Lisa Davis and her husband Michael Davis of Del Rio. She is also survived by the �"light of her life"�, her granddaughter Makayla Rae Davis, daughter of Michael and Lisa Davis. She is also survived by many close friends both near and far.
