Bernardo
Dominguez
Aug 20, 1932 — Jul 2, 2025
Bernardo Dominguez, age 92, entered into rest on July 2, 2025, surrounded by his wife and four children. Born on August 20, 1932, in Del Rio, Texas, Bernardo was a quiet, hard-working man who lived a life lovingly devoted to his family.
As a veteran of the U.S. Army's 45th Infantry Division, Bernardo proudly served his country in the Korean War. With his self-taught carpentry skills, he built the family home over several years. He was a constant fixture in the yard applying his meticulous raking skills closely followed by a nap on the porch in his favorite rocking chair. Bernardo loved ALL foods and had a special fondness for sweets, particularly La Vaquita candy and maranitos from Chapa's bakery. He retired from SFDRCISD with 25 years of service.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 73 years, Diamantina, his children, Mario Dominguez (Frances), Leticia Hunter (Mark), Cristina Davidson (Jeff), and Gilda Alvarado (Jose Luis), 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and his sister Angelica Maldonado. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Bernardo Xavier.
