Barbara Haby Rigbsy, age 65, entered into rest on Friday, August 9, 2024 in Brackettville, Texas. She was born on November 21, 1958.

Barbara Elaine Haby moved to heaven August 9th, 2024. She was born in Uvalde, TX and grew up in Uvalde, Comstock, and Del Rio. She lived much of her life in Falfurrias and Premont, TX before moving to Brackettville in 2015.

Barbara, or Elaine, or Barbara Elaine, depending on how you were introduced, was married to Rick Rigsby from 1986 until his death in 2000. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend to many, and was a devoted volunteer for countless activities, but especially 4-H and church.

She loved God, her family, guns, and animals. She shared this love of animals (not possums, her granddaughter has informed me. She did not like possums.) with her (not skunks or raccoons either. They ate her chickens.) family. Her love of domesticated (that's better) animals is being carried on by her children and grandchildren.

She also sure loved Jesus. All of us who knew her, know that her untimely death is the first time she has ever been early for anything. She is talking His ear off right now about how although His timing is perfect, this time might be the exception. We also know she is tidying the place up at this moment.

She is survived by her son Selton Rigsby, daughter-in-love Ashlee, and granddaughter Sadie. She is also survived by her daughter Karalina Venable, son-in-law Stan, and granddaughter Ricki. There are countless more family and friends, and we will all miss her terribly.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the First Baptist Church in Brackettville, TX. She really loved her church family, and she loved the good that they do. Remember her with love, remember her with laughter, tell your stories and give your grief to Jesus. She would not want us to be sad.
