Arturo M. Padilla Jr. age 72, entered into rest on December 15, 2013 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born July 20, 1941 here in Del Rio, Tx. He is preceded in death by his parents Arturo and Maria Padilla. Arturo M. Padilla Jr. was formally employed by The Texas Department of Transportation. Arturo was a U.S. Army Veteran and honorably served his country during The Vietnam War. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years Rosa Idalia Padilla. His son Arturo Padilla III (Beatriz), daughters: Idalia Padilla Rivas (Luis), Angie Padilla-Sanchez (Gilbert), Gloria Padilla Castaneda (Jec). Sisters: Hilaria Padilla, Hortencia Padilla Barrera (Vicente), and Angelica Padilla Juarez (Arturo). Also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary 7:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Gentlemen with the honor of Pallbearers: Luis E. Rivas, Gilbert E. Sanchez, Jec Castaneda, Louie Rivas, Arturo Padilla Barrera, Hector Padilla, Larry Martinez, and Hector Padilla Jr. Interment to follow at San Felipe Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by Ft. Sam Houston Honor Guard and The American Legion Post #595.
