Arturo "Art" Maldonado passed away peacefully on Friday the 19th of January 2024. His wife, three daughters and sister were at his bedside when the Lord came for their beloved husband, father and brother.

Art was born on the 6th of December 1935 in Del Rio, Texas to parents Alberto and Mercedes Maldonado.

Art's paternal grandparents were Florincio and Anasticia Maldonado. His maternal grandparents were Camillo and Herlinda Camarillo.

Art is survived by his wife of almost 65years, Maria "Moy" Maldonado; daughters Grace Maldonado, Gilda Jordan (Larry), and Rosie Perez. Grandchildren Morgan Fletcher (Scott), Kathleen Perez and Mason Jordan. Great Granddaughter Mayven Loux Ahearne and sister Dora Maldonado.

Art lived his life as he worked. A true servant's heart and always service with a smile. He was the hardest worker and was always on the move. Even after a long day at work, Art always had time for his girls. They spent time camping, fishing and attending countless family barbeque gatherings. He also loved all types of music and loved to dance. He taught all three of his daughters his best moves.

Art worked tirelessly with his dad and brother from a very young age, until his retirement from, a hometown favorite, Maldonado Service Station. After a brief retirement, he missed the day-to-day interaction with the community, so he decided to step back into the workforce and went to work for the school district until his final retirement.

Art will be missed by so many. He never met a stranger and so many friends and loved one's will have fond memories to cherish for years to come.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
