Arturo F. Diaz, age 74, entered into rest March 24, 2007 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born May 14, 1932 in Del Rio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Jesus R. and Teresa F. Diaz. Sisters: Margarita D. Moreno and Matilde D. Martinez. Brothers: Daniel F. Diaz and Lucio F. Diaz. Mr. Diaz was a Korean Army Veteran and proudly served his Country. He worked at the Federal Court House until his illness in April of 2005. Anyone who knew Mr. D knew that he never measured wealth as a monetary issue; instead, his wealth was his family and above all, his friends. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years Oralia M. Diaz, sons: Arturo Diaz Jr. and wife Cecelia Diaz, Raul M. Diaz and wife Rosie of Del Rio, Texas, and daughter: Lety D. Cárdenas and husband Pedro �"Pete"� Cárdenas, Jr. of Del Rio, Texas. Dora Linda Calvetti, Naila, Mayte were raised as daughters and Mario Martinez and Aldo Calvetti were raised as sons. Brothers: Marciano F. Diaz of Monahans, Texas, Gilbert F. Diaz of Del Rio, Texas. Sisters: Amada Cruz of Waco, Texas and Ramona Ortiz of San Antonio, Texas. Also cherishing him in their thoughts are his 5 grandchildren: Pete Cardenas 111, Ramon D. Cardenas, Alyssa Cardenas, Raul Diaz Jr., Sabrina Diaz. Pallbearers: Victor Ortiz, Juan Manuel Villanueva, Ruben Rodriguez, Pete Cardenas III, Ramon D. Cardenas and Raul Diaz Jr. Honorary Pallbearer: Mario Martinez, Ramiro Calvetti. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Chapel of Remembrance . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday March 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church time pending Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Military honors will provided by Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 595.
