Arturo "Shenandoa" G.
Avila
Aug 3, 1940 — Dec 27, 2025
Arturo "Shenandoa" G. Avila, age 85, entered into rest on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on August 3, 1940 in Del Rio, Texas.
Mr. Avila attended high school in Del Rio, TX. Shortly after, he served his country honorably in the US Army Corps from 1961 - 1965; a tradition of service his father, brother, and son carried on. He had a profound penchant for music; lovingly coined as "Shenandoah from the Queen City of the Rio Grande."
Mr. Avila was a composer, song writer, and performer strumming the guitar from the time that he was a child and performing with the likes of Willie Nelson. Nothing made "Shenandoah" happier than to entertain his family, friends, and most of all, his fans. His music will most assuredly be missed, but not forgotten.
