Armando
De La Rosa
Nov 5, 1954 — Apr 23, 2024
Armando De La Rosa Jr. (aka EL TORITO), passed away peacefully in his sleep to awaken in our Lord's glorious kingdom on April 23, 2024. His loving and loyal wife of 50 years, Teresita Montalvo De La Rosa, was by his side as he entered into eternal rest.
Mando was known for his short stature and agility to get the football from one end zone to the other. He was a bodyman by trade and his first job was working for Raul's Body Shop here in Del Rio. He then went on to serve 39 years of civil service on Laughlin Air Force Base where he retired in 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Armando and his eldest sister Rosalinda De La Rosa. Mando is survived by his loving wife, Teresita (Terry), children Robert (Malou) De La Rosa, Aracelie (Clay) Wiebush, Armando De La Rosa & Luis Zayas, Barabara (Keith) Harrington, along with four grandsons, (who affectionately called him BIG GUY) Isaac, Isaiah, Ian, & Mandito, his mother Nereida De La Rosa, brothers and sisters, Sylvia (John) Cruz, Jose Luis, Jesus Arnoldo, Nereida (Guadalupe+) Cuevas and several nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Mando will be missed for his clever responses and was always willing to give old school life long lessons. Mando could always uplift a room with his humor and joy for life. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
