Argentina ("Argie") San Miguel passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas; surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was born on August 7, 1943, in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico to Heriberto and Maria ("Chita") San Miguel.

Argie and her family migrated to the United States in 1954 and she completed her education in Del Rio, Texas, graduating from Del Rio High School in 1964: She worked for the Guarantee, a legacy retail store in downtown Del Rio, for many years before starting a 37-year career at Border Federal Credit Union (BFCU) in 1968. At the time of her retirement, she had the longest tenure in the history of BFCU. She started as a teller and worked her way up through the ranks in various positions, culminating her career as Vice President Of Operations as a supervising teller. Upon retiring from BFCU, she devoted her life to serving at St. Joseph Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister, Team Captain for the Collection Counting team, and Treasurer for the St. Vincent de Paul committee. She was also a member of the St. Joseph Prayer Group, the ACTS Community Pastoral Council, Liturgy Commission, and Sacred Heart Society. Argie was a recipient of the Lumen Gentium Award. She also actively supported many other community activities, including March of Dimes, United Way, and HEB Feast of Sharing.

She is survived by her loving family; brother Joe San Miguel .and wife Conchita; nephew Oscar San Miguel, Jr., and wife Sandra; niece Sandra Rousseaux and husband Jon, and sister-in-law, Delores San Miguel, niece, Lisa Gavia and husband Jesus and nephew Rodney Hale. She is also survived by her great-nieces Alanis San Miguel, Jacqueline Rodriguez, Zoe Rodriguez, and Makenna Rodriguez, and great-nephews Cayden Rousseaux and Gabriel Rousseaux along with numerous other extended cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Heriberto and Maria ("Chita") San Miguel, sister Lupita San Miguel, brother Oscar Sari Miguel, Sr., and great­ nephews Joshua Rousseaux and Cisco San Miguel.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
