Antonio L. Menchaca, age 94, entered into rest on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Del Rio, Texas. Antonio was born in Del Rio, Texas to Ernesto Menchaca and Antonia DeLéon Menchaca on January 17, 1925. He went to San Felipe Schools in Del Rio. He married Alicia Espinoza in 1951 in Del Rio, Texas. He worked as a carpenter most of his life and was a Veteran of WWII and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife Alicia E. Menchaca; and parents Ernesto and Antonia Menchaca; sister Marina M. Gonzalez; brothers Efrain Menchaca, Sr. and Armando Menchaca. Surviving him are his brothers Jose Menchaca and Victor Menchaca; and sister Alicia M. Zu�iga. Antonio is also survived by his children Roberto Menchaca, Sr. (Estella C.), Sylvia Cervantez (Ricardo, Sr.), Oscar Menchaca, Sr. (Silvia), Hector Menchaca and Velma Linda Lic�n. He is also survived by grandchildren Robert Jr., Tony, Josh, Mariza Menchaca, Rosalva Sanders, Ricky, Michael and Melissa Cervantez, Vanessa, Brenda and Kathy Menchaca, Oscar and Jaime Menchaca, Melva Cardenas and Delma Linda Lic�n; 28 great-grandchildren and his faithful pet Chiquita. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gentlemen with the Honor of Pallbearers are Roberto Menchaca, Jr., Antonio A. Menchaca, D. Josh Menchaca, Oscar L. Menchaca, Ricky Cervantez, and Michael Cervantez. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
