The world lost a fantastic human being on January 2, 2025 when Sergeant Andrew "Andy" Brent Kempker, 43, a dedicated police officer, loving father, son, brother, and cherished husband, passed away.Andy was born on November 1, 1981 in Freeport, Texas, and moved to the Central Texas region in his childhood. As a 15+ year veteran in the New Braunfels Police Department, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the public he vowed to protect. Andy was one of those rare people who embodied goodness in everything that he did and never once met a stranger. He was devoted to making the world a better place through simple acts of kindness and believed the phrase, "I love you" could not be overused. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kelly, and their two children, Haylie and AJ, who were the center of his world. In addition to his wife and children, Andrew is survived by his mother, Patricia Kempker, brother Brian Kempker, and his sisters Brandi Alvarez and Teresa Weaver, along with many other family members, friends, colleagues, and neighbors who considered him family.A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on January 6, 2025 at Tree of Life Church in New Braunfels, Texas, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to The New Braunfels Police Department Association.Though he is no longer with us, Andrew's legacy will inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
