Alicia R. Cortez, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born on March 5, 1937 in Del Rio, Texas.

Alicia lived most of her life with her beloved husband, Reyes Cortez, with whom she built a life centered on family, love, and devotion. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the care she showed to those around her.

Family was always at the heart of Alicia's life. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones and took great pride in her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Ernie Ramirez and his partner Arthur Pundt; her daughter Lupita Zapata and her husband Tommy Zapata; and her cherished grandchildren Sebastian Zapata and Lorena Zapata, who brought her great pride and joy.

Alicia will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Her love and memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave., Del Rio, Texas.

Visitation will continue on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave., Del Rio, Texas, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St., Del Rio, Texas.

The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.
