With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, family member, friend, and coach, Alfinio G. Flores, who entered into the presence of his Lord at the age of 58. After a courageous four-year battle with cancer, Alfinio passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family.

To know Alfinio was to know someone who brought people together. Whether it was family gatherings, friendships, coaching, church, or one of his beloved barbecue cook-offs, he had a gift for building community. His home, his table, and his heart were always open to others. The countless lives he touched are a testament to the man he was, and the love so many have for him speaks louder than words ever could.

Above all else, Alfinio cherished his family. He found immense joy in being a husband, a father, and especially a grandfather. Some of his happiest moments were spent making memories with his grandchildren, serving his church family, and sharing laughter and fellowship with friends. While he could be firm and liked things done by the book, everything he did came from a heart that desired to protect, provide, and leave a lasting legacy of honor, faith, and love.

Alfinio's faith in God was the foundation of his life. He served faithfully within his church and trusted the Lord through every season, including his battle with cancer. Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we find comfort in God's promise that those who belong to Christ have eternal life. We rejoice in knowing that Alfinio is no longer in pain or suffering, but has been welcomed into the arms of his Savior, where he is whole, healed, and at peace.

Alfinio leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Elida Rodriguez Flores. His son, Alfinio Jay "AJ" Flores (Anabel), his daughter's, Jacqueline (Jackie) Meza ( Zeke), Jasmin Ely Thomas (Michael). His beautiful grandchildren, Edgar, Edel, Madilynn Jay, Bella Teresa, Santiago Ismael and Scarlett Alfinia. His father, Alfinio Flores Escobedo (Norma), his mother, Maria Teresa Gonzalez Flores. His brothers, Julio Flores ( Diamantina), Juan "John" Flores, Raymundo Flores, Javier Flores. His sisters, Eileen (Lile) Esquivel and Teresa (Terry) Magaña along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunt's, uncle's and cousins.

Pallbearers are Julio Flores, John Flores, Alfredo Guerrero, AJ Flores, Edgar and Edel Rosales.

Until we meet again, we rest in the hope of Christ's resurrection, knowing this is not goodbye, but "see you again."

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM; recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 2020 N. Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Texas.

The mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 510 Wernett St, Del Rio, Texas; followed by the interment  at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 5144 Hwy 90 East, Del Rio, Texas.
