Abraham L. Cardenas Sr., age 82, entered into rest on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martinano and Hermiregilda Cardenas. Brothers Antonio, Amador, Augustin. Sister Rosa Villarreal and first wife Irene Cardenas. Left to cherish his memory are his children Abraham Cardenas Jr. (Frances), Mary Ann Cardenas, Richard Cardenas (Maria), Frances Dominguez (Mario), Felipe Cardenas. 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Siblings; Martin, Alfredo, Arturo and Manuela Rojas. Our Father was a humble man. A man that valued his family and a simple life. Although full of expectations and dreams for us, he expressed these with a soft touch of guidance and lifelong experience. He was a father to his five children and a father figure to others. A father full of unconditional love and our biggest cheerleader. A hard-working man who somehow always found a way to get to the game just in time. He held several occupations, but in his heart it was always carpet installation that inspired him the most and which he took great pride in. He was very proud of his worksmanship, whether it be a small repair or the brand new theaters of Plaza del Sol Mall in the 70's. We believe that all that met Dad would describe him as a generous man with a lively sense of humor. This generosity came to life in many forms; financially, giving of his time, hiring someone who needed a job, opening his home to others, a word of advice and certainly a word of comfort. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Gentlemen with the honor of pallbearers; Abraham Cardenas III, Steven Pati�o, Derek Cardenas, Michael Sotelo, Jakob Dominguez and Ms. Irene Cardenas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery
