Lourdes Barela Hernandez, age 72 entered into rest on Friday, June 9, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on October 22, 1944 in Tajique, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband Francisco Z. Hernandez; parents Jesus Barela and Margarita Chavez Barela; brother Manuel Barela and sister Frances Luna. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Francisco Hernandez, Jr. and wife Belinda and Ramon Hernandez; daughters Mary Nava, Rosa Arteaga and husband Jorge Luis, Cynthia Chapa and husband Arturo Garza; sisters Delora Moya, Betty Carreon, Elizabeth Rose Jantz, Aida and Trini; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Gentlemen with the Honor of Pallbearers are Jorge Luis Arteaga, Jr., Ray Hernandez, Jr., Jorge Chapa, Jr., Jesus Nava, III, Robby Hernandez and Francisco Hernandez, III. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
