Louis Franklin Alban Zylka, 85 of Del Rio, Texas passed away on October 22, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

On October 29, 2022 a rosary will be led by the Knights of Columbus at 9:30 AM, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Del Rio, Texas with memorial service following at 10:00 AM. The service will be offered by Father James Fischler. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Homes.

Lou was born in Brownsville Pennsylvania to Louis A. Zylka and Anna (Linko) Zylka On March 25, 1937. Lou is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Duquesne University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Lou married Mary Ann (Matura) Zylka on August 1, 1959. Lou was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a talented artist and craftsman who was very active in his church and community. Lou is a veteran of eight years with the United States Air Force SAC division and a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus.

Lou is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dr. John Michael Zylka and his great granddaughter Tessa Rose Shick. Lou is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Ann Zylka, daughter Mary Lou (Zylka) Shick and husband Darrell, son Louis R. Zylka, Brother Edwin Zylka/Susan, grandchildren; Aubrey Shick/Cornell Wright, Mark Shick/Carrie, Daniel Shick/Tiffany, Louis Joseph Zylka and great-grandchildren; Colton Shick, Alexa Shick, Camille Shick, Emma Shick, and Everly Shick.
