Jose M. Rubio, age 85, entered into rest on February 19, 2010, in Del Rio, Texas. He was born July 19, 1924 in Del Rio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose B. Rubio and Rosa Flores Rubio. He attended high School to the 11th year and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and public school. He also attended P.T.A. meetings on a regular bases during his children school days. He was self- employed painter in his early years until 1971 when he started working with the school district San Felipe Del Rio CIDSD until his retirement in 1995.He took pride in taking his children to college. He was a devoted family man who took pride in transporting his daughters to Texas Women"�s University in Denton, Texas and his son"�s. One of the biggest accomplishments was seeing his five children all receive a college degree. The education of his children was very important to him. He will be deeply missed by his family and those that he came in contact with during his 85 years of life. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Evangelina T. Rubio, Children, Rosa Rubio of Del Rio, Tx , Olga R. Felan and husband Roddy Felan of Rowlett, Tx, Jose M. Rubio, Jr and wife Bertha Rubio of San Antonio, Tx, Maria Elena R. Marquez and husband Emiliano Marquez of Allen, Tx, Ricardo Rubio of Del Rio, Tx, Sister, Laura Gomez. Grandchildren: Cassandra, Venessa, Cristina, Kylie, Catherine, E.J., Jose M. Rubio, III, and Marcos. Great-Grandchildren: Jose M. Rubio, IV, Aden Amir Rubio. Cousin Jesus Flores Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Gentlemen left with the honor of Pallbearers: Ricardo Rubio, Emiliano Marquez, Rodney Felan, Jose Rubio, Jr , E.J. Marquez, Jose M. Rubio, III, Marcos Rubio and Wayne Allen. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2010, 5:00pm-9:00pm, and Monday, February 22, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010, 2:00pm, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
