Eliseo Meza Jr. age of 87 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 29, 2022. He was at home surrounded by his loving family who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents Eliseo and Manuela Meza; brothers Vidal and Edward Meza. Eliseo is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Martina Meza, his son Edward Meza and wife Rebecca; son John Meza; daughter Sandra Smith; son Richard Meza and wife Crystal; daughter Laura Villegas and husband Francisco; daughter Michelle Jordan and husband Dan; son Michael Meza and wife Bertha; sisters, Ernestine Barron, Elena Ramirez, Elma Sauceda, and Evangelina Lozano. He is also survived by his wonderful grandchildren Natalie and Carmen Meza; James Fernandez Jr, Mary Cienega, Christina Guzman, and Ralph Fernandez; Jennifer Juarez; Alan, Adrian, Aaron, and Amanda Meza; Ryan Villegas; Micaela and Ethan Jordan; Melina Arizpe, Michael, and Bella Meza.Great grandchildren Bexleigh Fernandez; Karina, Miranda, Savannah, and Elijah Cienega; Juliet Guzman; Madilynn Fernandez; Christopher Juarez; Mason, Matthew, and Michael Arizpe. Eliseo joined the United States Air Force in 1955 and served as a Jet Engine Mechanic for over 20 years, earning numerous awards and medals. He was assigned to Laughlin AFB, TX; Ramstein AB, Germany; Clinton Sherman AFB, OK; Randolph AFB, TX; Albrook AFS, Panama then retired at Laughlin AFB, TX. He continued his career as a civilian Jet Engine Mechanic and Quality Assurance Jet Engine Inspector at Laughlin AFB, TX and retired after 21 years of service. He won the hearts of many, earning their respect and nickname of Papa Joe since Eliseo was hard to pronounce. He loved to spend time with his family, hunting, fishing, cooking out at the lake, and working outdoors. We will continue to honor his legacy by practicing all of the life lessons he taught us especially the value of hard work. The family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, love, and support. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022, 4:00pm-7:00pm at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Prayer Service 5:30pm. Chapel Service will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2022, 9:00am, Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Gentlemen with the honor of Pallbearers: Edward Meza, Richard Meza, Michael Meza, Mikey Meza, Francisco Villegas, Ryan Villegas, Dan Jordan, and Ethan Jordan. Honorary Pallbearers: U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Full Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
