Carlos Chavez, age 74, entered into rest on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 7, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Dominga Chavez. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Maria del Carmen Chavez. Sons, Carlos Chavez Jr. and wife of Alma Chavez. Daughters: Carla S. Chavez and Salma N. Chavez. Miguel Angel Chavez and daughters: Camila Chavez, Samantha Chavez, Carolina Chavez. Brother: Sotero Chavez and Sisters: Olga Zamarripa, Rosa Garcia, Maria de la Luz, Leticia Pina. Carlos was a very positive man and saw the good in absolutely everything. The words such as can't, impossible, not able, failure, did not exist in his vocabulary. He was an inspiration to all those who truly knew him. His vast knowledge of business allowed him to help open doors for countless individuals. He was the first to open an air flea market in 1975 in Del Rio known as Chavez Partida Flea Market. Carlos spent over 50 years in the second-hand buying and selling business. Carlos was a great example of a great humanitarian, who enjoyed helping others no matter what it took. Carlos was a great loving husband, father, grandfather who we called "Tata" since birth. There are not enough words in this world to express how much he will be missed. We love you and will truly miss you. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Chapel service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Services conclude after the chapel service.
