Our Father and Grandfather, Alvaro Ramirez, went to be with our Lord on December 30, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home in Del Rio, Texas. He was born November 23, 1932 in Piedras Negras Coah., Mexico. He relocated to Del Rio, Texas in 1966 where he initiated his lifetime career of 26 years.

He was employed by the National Life Insurance Company which later became American General. He excelled as an Insurance Agent and was then promoted to Sales Manager. He was recognized as a leader Regionally and Nationally and was presented with multiple awards. He was very dedicated and responsible for all the commitments that the job entailed. He taught us the importance of hard work, responsibility and commitment.

His employment allowed him to make many friends and compadres all over the city and beyond. He had a great sense of humor, a great memory and was quick witted. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with our mother, family, friends and relatives.  Our father was a devout Catholic and very strong in his faith. He always started our day with prayer as he drove us to school and would end his day with prayer before going to bed. He was blessed to have a long life full of many blessings.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Delia A.S. Ramirez in 2010. He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Delia R. Ramirez, husband Alfredo (Gabriela DeLuna, Daniela Ramirez, Alexa Ramirez), Irma Galvan, husband Marco (Jennifer Richard, Stephanie Morales, Marco Galvan Jr.), Mary Ramirez, Alvaro Ramirez Jr., wife Liza (Alvaro Benjamin Ramirez), Luis Ramirez, wife Diana, (Erika Ramirez, Vanessa Ramirez, Leah Ramirez), Mireya Wetter (Alexander Wetter). He is also survived by one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM; Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Alvaro Ramirez Jr., Luis Ramirez, Juan Ramirez, Marco Galvan, Marco Galvan Jr., Alexander Wetter and Alvaro Benjamin Ramirez.; Honorary Pallbearers: Alfredo Ramirez, Ulises Salinas, Eliodoro Martinez

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
