Abel Aleman, 82, of San Marcos, TX, passed away on October 25, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on May 5, 1941, in San Marcos, TX. Abel had a fulfilling career as a truck driver for the Central Texas Area, working for Centex Materials. He was dedicated to his work and made a significant contribution to the industry. Outside of work, Abel had a passion for Western movies and enjoyed watching a variety of shows on the Grit Channel. He also found joy in working on older model cars, using his skills to restore and maintain them. He loved spending time with all his nieces and nephews and was known to enjoy a good Bloody Mary every now and then. He particularly enjoyed taking road trips with whoever wanted to tag along to spend time with his sisters and family in Lubbock. Abel is survived by his stepchildren, Edward Gutierrez, Alexandra Banda (Jacob) and Erica Cerda (Felix). He is also survived by his sister, Maria Madrid, Eva Martinez Lara (Bill), Lisa Bosquez and Gloria Gawlinski (Mike). Abel leaves behind ten step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Aleman, stepson Alejandro Gutierrez Jr., mother Amelia Martinez and step-father Lorenzo, grandparents Lucinda and Pilar Alvarez, and his brothers Daniel Alvarez and David Martinez Sr. The Rosary for Abel Aleman will be held at 9 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Uhland, TX followed by the Memorial Service at 10 a.m. on Friday, 3 November 2023.
